米ミネアポリス警察の留置場でジョージ・フロイドさんが亡くなったことを受けて広がった「ブラック・ライブズ・マター（黒人の命は大切）」抗議デモに伴う暴動は、黒人社会に大きな代償をもたらした。
黒人男性の死に対する暴動で殺されたのは、黒人が圧倒的に多かった。黒人が経営・利用する店舗が略奪と破壊の犠牲になった。南北戦争の黒人兵士をたたえる記念碑も汚された。
「社会正義戦士と呼ばれる連中は、矛盾と偽善だらけだ。米国の黒人社会を破壊し続けていても、彼らには自分たちのバーチュー・シグナリング（自分が道徳的に優れていると思わせる行動）の方が大事なのだ」。こう語るのは、保守派の公民権運動指導者で、「ウッドソン・センター」の設立者であるロバート・ウッドソン氏だ。
