上院、権限分担で合意できず、バイデン政権は空回り

誰が１番で、誰が２番か、上院の運用がどのように進められるのか、今のところ誰にも分からない。
厳密に言うと民主党は今週、上院の主導権を握った。しかし、権限の分担で共和党と合意に至っておらず、上院の活動は部分的に凍結されている。
民主党は議長を抑えているが、各委員会の委員長はまだ共和党議員らが占めている。
両党とも、新たな合意への道を模索しているものの、民主党側が、バイデン大統領の政策に早く取り掛かろうとしているため、亀裂が生じ始めている。
バイデン政権の閣僚のうち承認されたのはまだ１人だけで、少なくとも過去40年間で最も遅い。
約２兆㌦の新型コロナウイルス追加救済策を急いでいることには、すでに共和党から強い反発が出ている。共和党は、小規模な法案なら可能かもしれないとしながらも、バイデン氏の進め方には反対を表明している。
